A LITTLE ADVENTURE

I just read my last post, and it seemed super sad. But I promise that no one has broken my heart. The poem wasn't about anyone in particular.

So here's another one because it's happier, and it's also not about anyone, and whoever wrote it is incredible.

It gives me the chills every time I read it.

Anyway, onto more important things.

I met someone today that changed the way I looked at life. I love those people. He was telling me about what he loved about his life, (which is my favorite topic, by the way) and he started to tell me about how he tried to go on at least one adventure every week. He told me that they don't have to be huge, but a little bit of adventure made him love his life, always. I don't think he was trying to be profound or anything, but his thoughts became my thoughts for the rest of the day.

What an incredible way to live. Everybody wants to live an adventurous life, but do they try to? I often find myself envying my friends who are studying abroad or going to school somewhere tropically dreamy. But is your setting really that pertinent to your adventure? Naturally it helps, but it makes no sense why I should live in envy of someone while I wasn't taking advantage of the adventures that I was having around me. Even the little ones. Even the ones I don't even realize that I'm having because I'm too busy dreaming about traveling to foreign countries. Adventure is lovely. Adventure is exciting. Adventure is everywhere. You just have to look for it.

A goal of mine: do something adventurous at least once every week.

Sincerely,
Jess

P.S. I flew in a helicopter today. I liked that. The world is such a pretty place.
